SkypeAnime is a small application that lets you use an animate GIF as a Skype avatar, a feature which is not currently supported by default on this popular VoIP client.

What SkypeAnime does is actually change the avatar every so often for each one of the frames that make up the animation.

The author discourages using SkypeAnime over long periods of time, as it can use up quite a bit of your bandwidth.

On the other hand, the use of animated GIFs with increased frame delays (30-500 milliseconds) is recommended.
